Workforce Development

Workforce Development provide the infrastructure for learning to support the continued development of practice of staff working within Suffolk County Council Adult and Community Services and Children and Young People’s Services, as well as those employed in the Private, Voluntary and Independent and Community Care sectors. This includes:

  • Supporting self-directed and practice-based learning
  • Supporting the recruitment, retention and professional development of social care practitioners
  • Developing, commissioning and delivering training
  • Creating on-line resources to support you in your work
and is so much more than just organising training!  You can read more about our Core Offer here.

We recognise that it can be difficult navigating the range of learning opportunities open to you.  We have therefore compiled a comprehensive Learning and Development  Programme which will help you to see what training and learning resources are available to you through Workforce Development and through other sources.  You can access the current Learning and Development Programme here.   This programme is continually being updated so do please do check back frequently.
We are part of the Quality, Engagement and Professional Development Service, and work closely with our colleagues to ensure that our learning and development offer reflects operational need and learning from audit.

We are based on the fourth floor of Lime Block in Endeavour house, and work across the County to support learning. We are always pleased to hear from you so feel free to communicate with us on (admin.wfd@suffolk.gov.uk) with any questions, suggestions, observations or feedback.

You can read more about the work we do and our priorities for the next two years in our Strategy document.
